Zaquot Family Project
Friends of Palestine were put in contact with the Zaquot family who were in desperate need of help. The family (3 adults, 6 children) were living in a very old, poorly constructed house which had deteriorated over time. During winter, the house would be flooded with rainwater and in summer time the heat was unbearable. It was difficult to find work (Unemployment rates are approx. 65% in Gaza) and they were struggling to feed their family. FOP Charity decided to help the Zaquot family by demolishing the existing house and rebuilding a new home for the family, a home that would better suit the needs of a family with young children. Mr Zaquot is originally a barber, so the design for the new building included a separate barber shop on the ground floor which would enable Mr Zaquot to earn a living and support his family. |

FarajAllah Family
Friends of Palestine have recently been contacted by the FarajAllah family, made up of husband, wife and 2 small children. They are currently living in totally unsuitable, cramped accommodation - just one room size 3 metres square This includes the kitchen and toilet in the same room with no ventilation, no windows, just the main door. More details in the short video included. FOP Charity is proposing a new building project to help this family by building a small flat on the roof of his father’s family house to accommodate this small family, easing their suffering and giving some relaxation and privacy. This project has not yet started as we are in the process of collecting donation / Zadaka / Sadaqat/ contribution in order to complete this project. Please do help this family. |
